    Morris David Vance was born on June 8, 1845 in Perry Co., Arkansas. He was the son of John Robert Vance. He joined the Confederate Army in June, 1863 and served with Harrell's Battallion Arkansas Cavalry, surrendering in 1865 in Clarksville, Arkansas. He served as a U.C.V. Commander from 1926 to 1928.
    Vance died on January 23, 1940 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, Arkansas.
