    DescriptionWood covered with red leather rectangular cover. Compartment with glass inkwell, two holders for pens or quills (one quill included). Leather has black ink stains. Fleur-de-lis stamped on outside of inkwell and cover.

    Belonged to Col. Oliver Keese. Keese served in the 118 New York Infantry during the Civil War. He entered as a Lieut. Col. and ended the war as a colonel. He was born July 9, 1830 in Clinton Co., New York and died January 24, 1889 in Pennsylvania. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville, Clinton Co., New York.
