    DescriptionA US Army Qualification Sharpshooter badge for dismounted qualification awarded bewteen September 1922 and April 1948. It is cross-shaped military metal. The cross has an inset field of black with each arm tapering to a central target design. Attached by two chain links beneath the metal is a rectangular label, "Pistol-D."

    George Edward Fisher was born on April 8, 1923 near Searcy, Arkansas. Fisher was a political cartoonist whose work influenced and helped define Arkansas politics for a generation. In 1943, he was called to active duty with the Army Reserves. Fisher passed away on December 15, 2003 of a heart attack at his drawing board in his Little Rock home.
