Skip to main contentDescriptionSmall brown purse belonging to Catherine A. Broach. Leather exterior and rose-colored fabric interior. Metal clasp at the top. A small rose-colored fabric pouch inside. Purse is broken in half. Inside the purse is one small, round Christmas card and one play ticket. The ticket admits one to "Handsome People" on March 17. Written on the back of the ticket: "Bro. Wm. gave me this purse in 1862 when he was in the Confederate service. This is 1894 - C.A. Broach, Fordyce 4/2/1894"
