DescriptionBadge belonging to Herbert T. "Dutch" Akers. Akers was the Chief of Detectives for the Hot Springs Police Department from 1927-1935. He was later convicted and sent to Leavenworth Federal Prison for harboring Federal Fugitive Alvin "Old Kreepy" Karpis in 1935. Akers was described by the FBI as the crookedest cop in America. 14 karat gold badge with blue hard fired enamel lettering that reads, "Chief of Detectives, Hot Springs, Ark."
