The Rackensack is a group of musicians who are a part of the Rackensack Folklore Society, with chapters in Pulaski County and Mountain View, Arkansas. The Rackensack Folklore Society is dedicated to the preservation of the performance of old time traditional folk music and storytelling in the Ozarks. The music is performed acoustically with fiddles, guitars, banjos, dulcimers, harmonicas, bass tubs and other instruments. One of the most notable members of The Rackensack was folk musician and Arkansas native Jimmy Driftwood.
An album by The Rackensack of the Ozark Folk Center entitled "The Rackensack Volume II". The album cover features a photograph of the members of the Rackensack Folklore Society of the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. The members are depicted with their instruments and the image is surrounded by a wooden frame. The background of the album cover is light pink. "The Rackensack Volume II" was produced by Rimrock Manufacturing Company in 1960.
