    DescriptionSheet brass belt plate marked by James S. Smith, maker New York. The buckle is rectangular in shape with chamfered corners and four pierced holes at the center. The reverse side of the buckle has a maker's mark stamp at the center, with a shaped rod at one end and a prong projection on the other.
