DescriptionMemoriam Ribbon and medal from the Grand Army of the Republic's McPherson Post #1 of Little Rock, Arkansas. The ribbon is cloth with a metal pin and metal fringe.

Josiah Demby was born August 20, 1840 in Georgia. He enlisted at Little Rock as a 1st Lieutenant in the 4th Arkansas (Union) Cavalry. He was commissioned an officer on March 8, 1864 and mustered out on June 30, 1865. Demby died on Feb. 12, 1918 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
