    DescriptionCivil War twelve pound shot cannonball. This shot was excavated near the Franklin Battlefield in Franklin, Tenn.

    Spherical in shape, the surface of the metal is pitted. The cannon shot has a circular depression, thread along the side walls, exposing three small holes drilled to the center of the ball.
