DescriptionCollectible baseball card of MLB star George Kell. Born in Swifton, Arkansas, he entered the Major league at age 20 playing for Brooklyn (2 years), Philadelphia (3 years), Detroit (6 years), Boston (2 years), Baltimore (2 years). Kell played 3rd and 1st base and his batting average were .306. He played in 10 All-Star Games and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. When his playing career was over, he became the broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers for 37 years. Kell died in 2009 in his hometown of Swifton, Arkansas. Status
