DescriptionCorrespondence between Governor Bill Clinton and the Department of Justice concerning their investigation civil rights violations allegations during the Fort Chaffee incident. The final letter Dated 10.31.1980 (from Bill Clinton to all State Police Personnel) stated that the report from the US Department of Justice to Governor Bill Clinton concerning the Arkansas State Police Personnel involved in the Fort Chaffee Incident. The report concuded that no deprivation of civil rights had been indentified during the struggle. The letter also indicated that the investigation would be dropped and no further action would be taken by the DOJ at the time.
