    DescriptionHandpainted china head doll. Doll has black painted hair and china hands, top of index and middle fingers chipped on left hand. Has a bouquet of flowers in left hand. Doll is wearing a cream colored dress with black lace trim. Doll has a leather and cloth body, stuffed with sawdust, both legs repaired with band aids.

    The doll was given to Lena Adams (Cherry) by her Uncle Johnny Austin and Aunt Ella Adams Austin on her second birthday on August 10, 1873 and was named John Ella.
