Almeda Riddle was one of the most acclaimed Arkansas folk musicians, having received a National Endowments for the Arts Heritage Award in 1983 and appeared at folk festivals all across the United States. Almeda’s album records were primarily of children songs and secular music, although her religious song traditions were equally important in her works.
