DescriptionA Spanish-American War flag dated to 1898. The silk flag has a dark blue field with the Arkansas state seal painted in color in the center. Below the seal reads, "Presented to the First Regiment. By the Children of the State of Arkansas." Gold fringe is located along the flag's edge.

Arkansas pulled together two regiments during the Spanish-American War but troops were still in training by the time the war ended. There had been more volunteers than those who could be used. Thus, the two Arkansas regiments and this flag never participated in the war.
