    DescriptionA black and white photograph of Lester Brocklelhurst. This photograph was taken on June 24, 1937 in Lonoke, Arkansas, after Brocklehurst recieved the verdict of his murder trial. After it was announced that Brocklehurst was found guilty and would be sentenced to death in the electric chair, Brocklehurst fainted. It is an ACME NewsPicture photograph.

    Lester Brocklehurst was born in 1914 in Knox County, Illinois to Lester and Edith Brocklehurst. He became known as the "crime tourist" after being found guilty of a crime spree through eighteen different states, which consisted of approximately 40 robberies and the murder of three men. Brocklehurst was captured in 1937, along with his accomplice girlfriend, Bernice Felton, and transported to the Tucker Prison Farm in Tucker, Arkansas. He was sentenced to be electrocuted by "Old Sparky". Brocklehurst was executed on March 18, 1938 at the age of 23.
