DescriptionA piece of scrip from Bellefonte, Arkansas fifty cents. The scrip features a young child holding a boat oar with two hands. The scrip also explains that the fifty cents could be paid in "Confederate or current Bank notes, or Arkansas War Bonds, when $10 is presented." The date on the scrip in July 1862 and is signed by C.C. Williams. The note was printed by James D. Butler, Print. Little Rock.

The scrip reads: " Fifty." "50." "Bellefonte, Arkansas." "50." / " I promise to Pay to Bearer, / FIFTY CENTS, / in Confederate or current Bank notes, or Arkan-sas War Bonds, when $10 is presnted." / "NO 2504." "Bellefonte, Ark., July 1862." / "James D. Butler, print. Little Rock." "C.C. Williams."
