DescriptionA book titled "The Congress of Women World's Colombian Exposition" featuring information on all of the exhibitions at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. The work was edited by Mary Oldham Eagle, 16th First Lady of Arkansas. Eagle served as Chairwomen of the Committee on Congresses, of the Board of Lady Managers during the World's Colombian Exposition. Her photograph is featured on page seven of the book.

Mary Kavanaugh Oldham Eagle was born in February 4, 1854. She was married to James Philip Eagle, Arkansas's 16th Governor. Mary Oldham Eagle took a more active role as First Lady with her interest in the sciences, women’s suffrage, and her international concerns. She played a major role in her husband's political campaigns and subsequent gubernatorial parties, even so far as to write her husband's address to the General Assembly due to his poor health at the time. She passed away February 15, 1903 and is buried in Mount Holly Cemetery.
