DescriptionA set of telegrams sent to Martha Jordan upon the death of her husband, Louis Jordan, in February 1975. The telegrams convey sympathies to Martha Jordan on her husbands passing. They are dated February 7 and 8 and were sent to their home address in Los Angeles.

Louis Jordan was born July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an African-American musician, singer and song writer. He briefly attended Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, majoring in music. Although he could play a variety of instruments, he was best known for his saxophone playing and was nicknamed "The King of the Jukebox." He appeared in and sang in a number of movies over the years. Jordan died February 4, 1975.
