DescriptionOne-sheet poster from the movie "Swing Parade," featuring Brinkley native Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five. The poster is yellow and red and features images of the movie characters. Louis Jordan is the bottom image. "Swing Parade" is printed in white text and the cast and crew names are printed in black. Swing Parade was produced by Monogram Pictures in 1946.

Louis Jordan was born July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an African-American musician, singer and song writer. He briefly attended Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, majoring in music. Although he could play a variety of instruments, he was best known for his saxophone playing and was nicknamed "The King of the Jukebox." He appeared in and sang in a number of movies over the years. Jordan died February 4, 1975.
