DescriptionBlack and white press photograph of Arkansas native Julie Adams in the movie "Six Bridges to Cross".

Julie Adams was born Betty Adams on October 17, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa, but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a film and television actress who is best known for her role in the film “The Creature from the Black Lagoon." She attended Little Rock Junior College (now the University of Arkansas at Little Rock). She changed her name to Julie Adams when she started working for Universal Pictures in 1949. She has appeared in over 100 films and TV series.

A description is typed on the back: "From: Universal-International, Universal City, Calif., 'Period!' Says Julie to Period Roles, Julie Adams, proclaimed a couple of years ago as 'the girl with the most perfect legs in Hollywood,' thereafter made eight films in a row in which she wore period costumes and flowing skirts, hiding her legs and figure. Now, at last she has two modern roles in a row coming up. She stars for U-I with Tony Curtis and George Nader in 'Six Bridges to Cross,' thrilling story of Boston's $2,500,00 robbery - after which Julie will star with Rory Calhoun and Ray Danton in 'The Looters,' another modern melodrama."

The photograph shows Adams leading up against a wall with her right hand raised and her index finger on her chin.
