Fayetteville Ark. March 23, 1863

Special Order No. 39E
Lt. Col. A.W. Bishop, First Ark. Cav. Vols., having been relieved from duty as Provost Marshal at this post.
Lt. William J. Patten of Co. A in the same regiment is hereby appointed in his place.
Lt. Patten will forthwith relieve Lt. Col. Bishop and receive all papers pertaining to the Department now under his control.
