    DescriptionLetter to Commanding Officer at Elk Horn, dated 11/22/1862. Letter is from General James Blunt requesting that scouting parties be sent in the direction of Huntsville, Arkansas to map movements of the "enemy" up the White River. He also asks that scouts be sent down Fayetteville Road. He hopes to have correct intelligence from Van Buren and Fort Smith in a few days from the writting of this letter.

    I direct(?) you to send scouting parties in the direction of Huntsville to acertain[sic] if there is any movement of the enemy up White River. Also send scouts down the Fayetteville Road. Keep me advised promptly of any information you may receive. I hope in a few days to have (?) intelligence from Van Buren & Fort Smith
