    DescriptionModel 1822 Harper's Ferry .69 cal. conversion musket with carved inscription in the stock, "J.K. Hubbard." Beneath the lock there is another carved inscription, "TOM" and "JLT." J.K. Hubbard has been identified as Pvt. John K. Hubbard, Company G, 15th Arkansas (Josey's) Infantry. Patrick Cleburne was the original colonel of the 15th Arkansas Infantry.

    Hubbard's father was a native of Ohio, a graduate of Yale, and a large land and slave owner in Phillips County. By 1860, Hubbard's family owned 1,500 acres and at least 66 slaves. Hubbard's descendents currently reside in Chidester, Arkansas
