Early American Portrait of John Augustus Jordan wearing a dark coat over a jacket, white shirt, and tie. His clothing dates to circa 1845. He is looking slightly to the right and his right hand is at his stomach. It is a self-matted oval painting housed in the original gilt frame.

    The Jordans owned a large plantation, South Bend, located in Lincoln County, Arkansas.
