DescriptionA tall oblong shape vase with base. Pink and white background with iris and petals painted on moulded relief on both sides. Red and white state of Arkansas outline paper label.

Situated in Camden, Arkansas, Camark Pottery manufactured a variety of wares between 1927 and 1969. Founded as the Camden Art ad Tile Company by Samuel J. (Jack) Carnes, it employed experienced ceramists, designers, and artists. Beginning with quality hand-thrown and cast artware, production gradually turned to strictly industrial castware in the 1930s. In the 1960s, he company's ownership changed, and by 1969, it ceased operation presumably due to economic conditions. In 1986, the company name and property were purchases by Mark and Gary Ashcraft who planned to resume business--yet to date (1990), nothing has come of it.
