DescriptionLobby card showing a scene from the movie "Riders of the Dawn," which starred Jimmy Wakely, a Mineola, Arkansas native. The movie was made in 1945 by Monogram Pictures.

James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.

The card is dark colored with an off-white border. The picture shows a group of five men in cowboy hats playing instruments while three other men watch and listen, one holding a baby (eight men in total). The men playing instruments are part of Lee "Lasses" White's medicine show in the movie. In the foreground is a wooden table with dinnerware. Wakely is standing between the band and the sitting men, wearing a blue shirt and a black cowboy hat. Wakely's full name appears in the top left corner in large yellow lettering. The title is in the bottom right corner in white lettering on a red background.
