    DescriptionLock, c. 1855, from the smokehouse door of Mark's Mill Plantation in Cleveland Co, Arkansas. Made of metal and painted gold in color. The lock and key were suppose to have been made by slaves on the plantation. Craftsmanship is very crude. The lock hole is 1 3/4 inches in length. Three nail holes appear in the lock.
