DescriptionFan mail photographic postcard of western star and Mineola, Arkansas native Jimmy Wakely. Produced by Capitol Records, Inc. It is stamped from the post office in Burbank, CA, on January 3, 1951.

James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.

The image is sepia toned. Wakely is leaning slightly to his right and is wearing a dark colored suit and tie and a light colored shirt. The postcard has a printed signature of Wakely running vertical to the left of his image that reads "Best Wishes, Jimmey Wakely." On the back of the photo is recording studio information and latest songs and a one cent stamp.
