Description35th Iowa Reunion badge. American flag ribbon attached to a pin. Circular medallion hangs from the ribbon. The pin is celluloid surrounded by a metal frame. In blue lettering: "35th Iowa V.I." The circular medallion commemorates the death of Maj. A. John, who was killed in Arkansas during the Civil War. On the medallion is an image of John and in black lettering: "Maj. A. John/Killed in the Battlefield/Old River Lake, Ark./June 6, 1864". On the back of the medallion in blue lettering: "Sixth Re-Union/Muscatine, IA./Sept. 28-29, 1898".
