DescriptionTravel reimbursement of $18.50 from Sebastian County, Sebastian Circuit Court for Fort Smith District, to L.M. Grandstaff for transporting John Middleton 100 miles due to a change of venue. This concerned the arson charge against John Middleton for burning down Scott County Courthouse (acquitted). Middleton was later a consort of Belle Starr and was murdered in Indian Territory. This reimbursement is dated 7 December 1882.
